Summer Camp Staff Positions

Boating Facilitator toggle arrow

You will be critical to the success of the summer with the responsibility of supervising campers and staff in camp aquatic activities with an emphasis in boating. In this role you will supervise and guide campers through on-site canoe, kayak, and rowboat instruction and progressive learning experiences. Small Craft Safety Certification required. Training available during camp staff training.

Minimum age: 16
Certification: Small Craft Safety

Counselor

Directly supervise a group of 6-12 campers in daily activities and foster a positive camp experience while creating a safe and welcoming environment for campers and staff. Responsible for managing camper behavior and tending to hygiene of all campers.

Minimum age: 18

Counselor - Unit Leader toggle arrow

Responsible for campers and counselors in units and for managing behaviors, unit activities, and staff supervision. Must have the ability to supervise campers and staff members and organize and implement safe, fun, and age-appropriate activities. Two years of resident camp experience preferred.

Minimum age: 21

Health Officer toggle arrow

Under the supervision of the Camp Director and technical direction of a licensed physician, the Health Officer is the health and safety supervisor for camp. The Health Officer will work to ensure the health and safety of every person on camp. The position will be responsible for health and cleanliness standards, medication distribution, general medical care, and proper documentation of care.

Minimum age: 21
Certification: RN, MD or EMT

Kitchen Manager toggle arrow

Supervise kitchen staff and meal preparation for camp population each week. Duties include planning menus, ordering food and supplies, preparing and serving food, and scheduling and supervising kitchen staff and needs. Ensure that kitchen exceeds passing scores on Health Department site visits and enforce food safety regulations. Food management experience and food service training preferred. Applicant must be able to lift 50+ pounds.

Minimum age: 25
Certification: Safe Serv

Kitchen Assistant toggle arrow

Assist with food preparation and service, dishwashing, and general kitchen duties. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds. No experience required. Food Handler certification is a plus.

Minimum age: 16
Certification: Food Handlers' Permit

Lifeguard

Provide a safe and fun aquatics program including, but not limited to canoeing, kayaking, swimming, inflatables, and tubing. Assist with general unit programming and management. Lifeguard certification required. Training for small craft or swift water rescue is preferred. This training is available during camp staff training.

Minimum age: 19
Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard, Waterfront Module

Program Facilitator toggle arrow

Oversees the implementation of badge work activities in coordination with the Camp Director and counselors. Will also facilitate activities within the craft hut with the assistance of counselors.

Minimum age: 21

Waterfront Director toggle arrow

Supervise aquatic programs such as lakefront activities, tubing, inflatables, kayaking, and canoeing. Assist with camp-wide programming and management. Lifeguard experience and a nationally recognized lifeguard certification, as well as supervisory experience, are required.
