At Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama, we believe that every girl deserves the chance to experience the growth, adventure, and leadership that come with being a Girl Scout. Through the support of our community partners, GSSA proudly offers financial assistance to remove barriers and open doors for all girls to participate in our programs, camp, and activities.

Our easy, streamlined application process allows families to apply for assistance, whether it’s for membership, camp, programs, travel, or other Girl Scout activities.

We’re here to support you, and we’re committed to ensuring that every girl can be part of Girl Scouts and experience the incredible journey that lies ahead.

Girl Scouts is open to all girls and adults, regardless of ability to pay. Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama is committed to removing financial barriers to participation.

Financial Assistance Standards

Annual Girl Scout membership dues assistance for girls or adults is granted in full or in part when requested, as funds are available.
In addition to membership dues assistance, girl members may request financial assistance for other expenses. Eligible expenses include:
- Council-led/sponsored program event registration
- Council-led resident and troop camp registration, less applicable non-refundable deposit
- Council-led/sponsored travel programs

Additional Guidelines

Financial assistance cannot be used to reimburse girl or adult members for money already spent.
Financial assistance allocations are subject to availability.
A separate form must be completed for each person requesting assistance.
Adults who have council debt are ineligible for financial assistance.
Adult members who are ineligible for volunteer roles may be denied financial assistance

Girl Scout Membership Dues

To be registered as members of Girl Scouts, individuals must pay annual or lifetime membership dues. Annual membership dues are $65 for girls and $30 for adults. Learn more.

Details

The Girl Scout membership year is October 1 through September 30.
- $75 Extended-Year Memberships are available April 1-July 30. These include the remainder of the current year and all of the following membership year.
- Membership must be renewed annually.
Membership dues assistance is available and must be requested at the time of registration or renewal.
Membership dues are non-transferable. Dues of one person may not be transferred to the credit of another person.
Membership dues are paid to Girl Scouts of the USA.
- GSSA does not retain any portion of membership dues.
