Earn your GSSA Outdoor Essentials Certification so that you can take
Girl Scouts on overnight camping adventures, lead them in a campfire
activity, or help them progress through GSSA's Outdoor
Essentials Progressive Patch Program. Once you arrive, you'll
have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate your own outdoor
skills: fire safety, outdoor cooking, knife safety, cleaning up,
knots, and shelter-building will all be a part of this training!
Bring a sack lunch and be prepared to start training at 11:00
am!
Pre-requisites: Adults who are members of GSSA must
complete the Overnight
Certification Knowledge Check and have a working knowledge of
the material in the Outdoor
Essentials Resource Manual prior to attending the in-person
event. Adult members of other councils should confirm with their
council before registration to ensure that this GSSA training fulfills
their council's camping training requirements.
After
attending the event, adult members of GSSA will receive a link to
complete the Outdoor Essentials Knowledge Check so that they can
achieve GSSA Outdoor Essentials Certification.
