Join Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama and Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama for the 2026 Alabama Girl Scout Camporee! The 2026 camporee is hosted at Fort Toulouse-Jackson Park located in Wetumpka, AL along the Coosa River. Rewind in time with us to explore Wetumpka's historic and even pre-historic events! Fort Toulouse served as an outpost for French and American soldiers throughout the 1700's. Discover what a day in the life looked like for people that lived at and passed through Fort Toulouse as well as the Native American Creek village a short walk away. Rewind even further back in history to about 85 million years ago when an asteroid struck this area and permanently altered the landscape. Learn how the asteroid impact shaped the geography and settlement of Wetumpka, and how scientists pieced together the evidence left behind. In addition, Girl Scouts will also celebrate Earth Day with upcycled creations and environmental education.
Optional Activity Add-ons:
GeoAlabama Bandana Talk - registration required with an
additional $12 fee per person. This Saturday add on is available for
all age levels and adults and includes the lesson, bandana, and

networks from early to modern times? Why did Alabama have four capital
cities before Montgomery?

resource and stylish statement piece that may be worn however you
choose. You will also receive a colorful Quick Guide that has
illustrated maps and tips.
Kayak on the Coosa Excursion - registration required
with an additional $30 fee per person. This excursion is only
available for Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors, and Adults per the

Are you looking for adventure and the thrill of whitewater?
Cadette Girl Scouts and up have the opportunity to kayak down the
Coosa River Saturday during the camporee. A river guide with Coosa
River Adventures will lead you through flatwater areas plus class II
and III whitewater sections. Pack a sack lunch to enjoy on the river
and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Please note the trip time is
11:00am, but you will need to arrive by 10:30am for the safety
briefing and equipment. Each participant will be provided a kayak,
paddle, and a PFD (life jacket). Single and tandem kayaks are
available upon request. By participating in the Kayak Excursion, you
will be missing the Saturday morning and afternoon activities.
Participants will return in time for activities just before dinner
including the GeoAlabama Bandana Talk and the Upcycle Fashion
Show.
Your base registration fee ($55)
INCLUDES your tent site, a fun patch, t-shirt, dinner on Saturday,
and the following activities:
Friday Night
Check In and pitch your tent for an optional extra night of
outdoor adventure. After setting up your campsite, gaze at the stars
for an after dark astronomy lesson.
Saturday
Saturday Morning kicks off with a continued Check In and an
opening ceremony. Girl Scouts will explore Fort Toulouse-Jackson Park
and interact with reenactors portraying the lives of soldiers and
civilians that lived there.
Get creative and crafty while making
the world a better place. Celebrate Earth Day by trying new ways to
use recyclable materials at staff-lead craft stations. Zizi's Bee
Company will be present demonstrating how honey is collected from
beehives and how bees help make the world go round! Bees play a
crucial role for the Earth as pollinators. Fly into the immersive
mobile Zizi's Bee trailer to see how it's done. Additionally, we
invite all Girl Scouts to participate in our Upcycle Art Gallery and
Fashion Show! Before arriving for the weekend, create a new artwork,
clothing item, or accessory at home from materials that may not fit,
don't work anymore, or don't match your style. You can create any item
of artwork, invention, clothing and/or accessories by yourself or as a
Girl Scout sister collaboration. Show off your sustainable creation(s)
by displaying them in the Upcycle Art Gallery or walking in the
Upcycle Fashion Show!
Unearth the evidence and history of the
Wetumpka Impact Crater with hands-on activities led by specialists.
Staff from the Impact Crater Visitors Center will reveal how the
asteroid impact left a crater nearly five miles wide and altered the
surrounding ecosystem. Then, take off into an astronomy lesson about
the difference between asteroids, comets, and meteors.
After a
full day of fun, relax with your fellow Girl Scouts for dinner,
provided by GSSA. Gather around the campfire for s'mores and folk
tales. Then, grab your flashlight for a night hike around the park.
Sunday Morning
Breakfast will be on your own, but we will come together for a
flag retirement ceremony where Girl Scouts will help fold and properly
