100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage March

This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote! To commemorate this important occasion, the League of Women Voters will hold a march and festival on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The march will begin at Bienville Square and end at Mardi Gras Park where the celebration will continue with a family friendly festival open to everyone. There will be food, fun and entertainment, including a DJ, dancers, bands and other performers. There will also be strong female leaders from our community to say a few inspirational words to the attendees. In honor of the Suffragettes, participants are encouraged to wear white, along with their Girl Scout vest/sash. All Girl Scouts will receive a Women’s Suffrage Centennial participation patch. Adults may purchase a patch for $2 in the shop after the event while supplies last!
