The Mobile Ballet would like to invite Girl Scout troops to come see their Christmas performance of the Nutcracker for a special group price of $8 per ticket for groups of 10 or more attending the same performance.  These seats are in the upper balcony but you can also choose seating in the main area for 15% off their ticket prices if you bring a group of at least 10 people.

Nutcracker performances are at the Mobile Civic Center Theater.  

Performance times: Saturday, Dec. 10, 2:30pm and 7:30pm 
Sunday, Dec.. 11, 2:30pm 

Seating is limited so please purchase your tickets as soon as possible before Nov. 30.  You can purchase them directly from the Mobile Ballet Office on Downtowner Loop .  They will take a girl scout troop check.   You can find out more information by calling Mobile Ballet and talk to Miss Kittrell at 342-2241 or email her at kittrell@mobileballet.org.

Tr   Keep Mobile Beautiful provides Recycling Field Trips for Girl Scouts at the Mobile Recycling Center on Government Blvd. Girls can tie this field trip into the It's Your Planet, Love It! Journey  series and badge work. Interested leaders should contact Phyllis Wingard : pitykmb@comcast.net (208-6028).

 

      Keep Mobile Beautiful is holding the semi-annual Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, November 5 at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds.  

Older girls (Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors) are needed to unload cars, distribute materials and collect information. The shift will be from 8:45am-1:15pm and documentation of hours will be provided.

Do you love Disney World? Do you love Girl Scouts? Then this bridging ceremony is just for you! Girl Scouts and their families are invited to a special ceremony May 26 or 27 at Epcot. 

This isn't a Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama program, but is a wonderful opportunity to combine two things girls love -- Girl Scouting and Disney World -- into an unforgettable bridging event.

ttendees will participate in a ceremonial welcome and pledge before dividing into smaller groups for the bridging experience. Each Girl Scout will receive 1 commemorative event item and access to badge alignment e-materials. Disney characters will be on hand to surprise and congratulate the Girl Scouts. Add on youth programs are available.

Register before this event reaches capacity (or May 1, whichever comes first) and receive reduced ticket prices and hotel rooms (online).

rock_the_mall.jpgGSUSA is searching to find a Girl Scout with a passion for Girl Scouting and a love of music to perform on stage at Girl Scouts Rock the Mall. 

The "I Want to Rock the Mall" YouTube Contest, generously sponsored by K12, will launch on November 10, 2011 and registered Girl Scouts may post their video entry through April 20, 2012. One talented Girl Scout (and adult chaperone) will win a trip to Washington, DC to perform on stage at Girl Scouts Rock the Mall
