Special guest artists from the Alabama Ballet Company based in Birmingham will dance in the roles of the Sugarplum Fairy and the Cavalier Prince. The Nutcracker Ballet is a production of the LynnTerra Ballet Company


Two great options

1.    Come as a troop on Friday, November 13, 2009. This will be our dress rehearsal, and you will have any seat in the house.  Begins at 6:30 p.m.  Cost is $8 per ticket.

2.    Come with 10 or more troop members for one of performances on Saturday, November 14 or Sunday, November 15.  Begins at 2 p.m. each day.  If 10 or more attend from your troop, cost is $10/person (special group rate).  These will be reserved seats.

Where: Opelika Performing Arts Center, Opelika High School

Girl Scouts in grades 6-12 are invited to an overnight event with the Mariners.  Girls will spend an evening of fun and games with pizza and movies. 


GSSA's Mariner Crew Program, an active marine program, includes self-rescue and other water skills, sailing, emergency preparedness and eco-action.  Mariners participate in sailing and disaster training. They also are taking a sailing trip from Key West to the Dry Tortugas in 2010! 


When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, November 6 - 8:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7

Cost: $25

Where: Dauphin Way Methodist Church, Mobile

Service Unit 914 invites you to a Halloween Festival Thursday, October 29, 6 - 8 p.m. at Dalraida United Methodist Church in Montgomery.  Wear your favorite costume and join the fun! Each troop in Service Unit 914 is hosting a game! Win prizes and candy. Hot dogs, chips and drink will be available for purchase at a cheap price.


The "dead"line for registration is Friday, October 23.  E-mail with the number of girls from your troop. Siblings may attend, but must be accompanied by the parent who must stay for the event. No non-family members please.


Help us fight hunger!  Each Girl Scout is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item. The Girl Scout with the most food by weight will win a trophy. For every 10 lbs of food, the Girl Scout will receive a raffle ticket for door prizes.

Join other older girl leaders during Purple Pearls Sunday, October 11 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the University of South Alabama. While the girls enjoy the activities, we will discuss all of the programs and opportunities available to older girls and brainstorm some new ideas!  RSVP if you would like to do an Older Girl Award training by October 8, or if you would like to just brainstorm, we'll see you there!
