Exciting new Girl Scout programs added with Space 301 in Mobile!

The Centre for the Living Arts/ Space 301 is hosting art badge days for Girl Scouts in the Fall and the Spring. A special feature of each badge will be the opportunity to tour a visiting exhibition. Local artists and art experts will work with the girls on badge requirements. An overnighter will be offered for older girls March 20-21 with an opportunity to attend Cirque de la Symphonie at the Saenger March 21.

Brownie Try -It Day: Colors and Shapes and Art to Wear (Sat. 11/14)

Junior Badge Day: Folk Arts (Sat. 12/5)

Older Girls IP Day: Folk Arts (Sat. 12/5)

Older Girls IP Overniter: Architecture and Environmental Design (Sat. 3/20-Sun. 3/21)

Brownie Try-It Day: Numbers and Shapes and Me and My Shadow (Sat. 4/24)

Junior Badge Day: Art in 3D (Sat. 4/24)

For Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts


Great for team-building and confidence-boosting!  Girls between the ages of 9 and 11 will experience the low challenge course, and ages 12 and up will experience the low and high challenge course.  Juniors may apply this event toward the "Adventure Sports" badge, and older girls can apply this event toward the "High Adventure" IP.


Troops or individuals may register for this event. Individual girls must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Adults not participating in the course do not have to pay.

Where: Auburn University, Auburn

Ages: 9 years old and up, adults may participate!

Cost: 9-11 years old - $20.00, 12 years old and up - $30.00

The Girl Scout Mariner Troop is raising money for their character-building trip by holding a yard sale, and you're invited!  Items for sale include furniture, household items, clothing, a bathroom sink and more.

When: 7 a.m. - 1 p.m., September 25 and 26

Girl Scouts are invited to attend USA Jags football games during Scout Days October 17 and November 7.  Girl Scouts will be able to purchase reduced tickets and special patches. See the flyer   and order form for ticket information.  If your troop would like to do the flag ceremony or participate in the fan tunnel, contact Mary Anne at extension 1202.

An older girl event for 6-12th grade girls


When: 2-5 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009

Where: USA's Ballroom in the Student Center

Cost: $5 for Girl Scouts, $12 for non-Girl Scouts

KD Badge Day Extended Registration Deadline: September 18


Older girls are invited to a fun filled afternoon on the USA campus. Girls will learn about opportunities especially for them while enjoying music and activities.  There will be door prizes, step dancing, eco-friendly facials, and so much more!  There will also be information on cool travel opportunities, scholarships, college info, camp opportunities, etc.


There will be an adult session about older girl activities for parents and leaders in a separate room in the student center.  This will also include a Silver and Gold Award training for leaders.
