To encourage girls across the country to become involved with engineering and technology, the Society of Women Engineers has launched a new program:
Wow! That's Engineering!
Experience the creativity and innovation of engineering and technology with fun hands-on activities like:
• CSI Huntsville
• Newton's Rocket Car
• SWE's Next Top Cosmetic Designer
Come meet women engineers, scientists, and technologists and hear firsthand about these exciting careers. This event is open to the first 200 girls to register.
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: University of Alabama in Huntsville
Grade level: Cadettes
Cost: FREE, includes lunch and a patch. Overnight accommodations are available for Friday, September 18, at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center for an additional $25, which includes breakfast.
Registration: Pre-registration is required due to limited space. Registration closes Friday, September 11, 2009, at 5 p.m., no exceptions. There will be seminars for parents, guardians and troop leaders. Those wishing to attend must also register. Participants must complete a Program Registration Form which may be submitted by mail, fax, or email to:
