We wanted to spread the word about the good work the
cookie sale is still doing. Thanks to Troop 8408 (Leaders Dee Owen and
Shannon Dorazio) and Troop 8400 (Leaders Jeanne Peebles and Carolyn Hertel) for
sharing this inspirational letter.
Dee, Hello,
I've just received a gleeful email from my son in Iraq who
now has in his possession mounds of girl scout cookies. He has plans to
not only enjoy them himself but to share them throughout his entire battalion.
As he will be expressing their gratitude, I'm expressing mine. His
dad and I appreciate your troop's tremendous efforts to let our son and other
sons and daughters in military service in Iraq know that you have them in your
thoughts and prayers. Perhaps nothing says it better than that which
satisfies the sweet tooth. I'm so pleased to have met you and to be
reminded of how wonderfully sincere the girl scouts are to serving the
community. I look forward to the cookie sells every season. Good
luck in your endeavors in helping to grow great girl citizens.
Our Sincerest Gratitude,
Marsha and Gill, parents of
CPT Gill Tatman-Tyree of the 224th MI BN
