Whatever your schedule permits and whatever your skill set, you may be sure that Girl Scouts can help you put your experience and abilities to use in building girls of courage, confidence and character.
Volunteer opportunities range from as little as a few hours of event support to the more comprehensive role of being a Troop Leader or Advisor. Here are a few examples:
- Troop Leader or Co-Leader for younger girls
- Advisor for girls 11-17
- Committee member for troops and events
- Share your career experiences
- Share your cultural background with girls
- Consultant for special events, projects and/or fundraising
- Serve as cookie manager for an area

GS101 -- Girl Scouting 101 is a new and completely updated online training for volunteers on the GSUSA web site.
Volunteer Orientation and
Leadership Essentials have been replaced by GS101 (above), but are still acceptable training tools.

Starting a Girl Scout Troop isn't hard!
GS 101 -- Girl Scouting 101 is the most up-to-date online leader training; it also contains all the latest information about the new Girls Guide to Girl Scouting handbooks and the third and final Journey series for every age level, “It’s Your Story, Tell It”.
Volunteer Essentials -- your guide to everything you need to know to have a successful --and safe-- year of Girl Scouting
Safety Activity Checkpoints -- how to keep your girls (and yourself) safe in all your activities.

Learning programs helps you get the most out of your volunteer experience, as well as providing guidance on the best and safest way to fulfill your commitment.
For new leaders, Girl Scouts provides a Volunteer Orientation and Leadership learning programs to support them in their new role.
Learning programs are made available for many other volunteer opportunities, such as CPR/First Aid, Troop Camper, Canoeing and Water Safety, Archery. You can learn fun new skills while supporting Girl Scouts!
