Don’t forget to thank your Girl Scout Leader this week! Leader Appreciation Day is this Saturday, April 22. Send an email, have your girls make cards, or simply take a moment to tell this special person how much they mean to you.
I want to thank each of our volunteers during this Volunteer Appreciation Month, but this week, I particularly want to focus on our leaders. After all these years, I still remember that “brave” woman who led a rag-tag group of second-grade girls to Kamp Kiwanis one Saturday, starting me on my Girl Scout path. The picture of our little group that day sits on the bookshelf in my office, and never fails to bring a smile to my face.
It’s you, our leaders, who make these special memories possible for our girls. Every day you work to change lives, often in very quiet ways. I hope that, when you look back upon this time, you know that it was worth every moment spent with a crying child, that rainy night at camp, or that time you spend 18+ hours chasing 12 girls around the aquarium.
Please know that we are grateful for your hard work, your dedication, and your love for our girls. We honor your many achievements and look forward to what’s to come!
