Daisy Coding for Good Badge
This program covers this (these) Girl Scout Outcome(s):
Sense of Self – Girls have the confidence in themselves and their abilities, and form positive identities.
Challenge Seeking – Girls take appropriate risks, try things even though they may fail, and learn from their mistakes.
Girl Scout Daisies are invited to the Coding for Good badge series hosted by the Fairhope Public Library and led by Girl Scout Leader, Allyson Russell. This is a three-part series and the girls will earn one badge at each meeting. The first badge in the series is Coding Basics which covers algorithms, loops, and women in computer history. CodeSpark tutorials that were built for the Girl Scout Coding for Good program will be used for the class. The class is free, but the badges must be purchased through the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama council shop at an additional charge. There will be an optional fun patch to purchase at the library for a cost of $3.00. Please bring cash if you wish to purchase the fun patch as the library does not take credit or debit cards.
Parents need not stay in the computer lab but must remain in the library building for the duration of the program.
Dates for the next two sessions are TBD.
