National Girl Scouts in State Parks Weekend

Get Every Girl Outdoors! Plan on taking your family or Girl Scout troop to one or more of these fun State Park events on National Girl Scouts in State Parks Weekend on July 13. Too far to travel, that’s okay. Visit a state park near you and plan a family/troop day hike, badge work or overnight camping.
Gulf State Park Guided Pier Walk
Talk about the fish being caught off the pier, the history of the pier and many interesting facts.

Gulf State Park Birds of Prey Presentation
Learn about local birds and their habitats.
Date and Time: July 13, 2:00 p.m.
Place: Gulf State Park Nature Center in the Campground

Cost: $2.00 per vehicle
What to bring: Nothing
Meaher State Park Guided Hike
Guided hike along the boardwalk with a focus on birds and alligators and their habitat.
Date and Time: July 13, 9:00 a.m.
Place: Meaher State Park
Address: 5200 Battleship Parkway, Spanish Fort, Al
Cost: $2.00 per person
What to bring: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, binoculars (there will be a few pairs to share).
All three events will be guided by a State of Alabama Park Naturalist. The Gulf State Park Campground store has patches available for purchase. ($3.75). Store hours are 9am-5pm. on Saturday, July 13th.
