Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama Heritage Collection Tour
This program covers this (these) Girl Scout Outcome(s):
Sense of Self – Girls have the confidence in themselves and their abilities, and form positive identities.
Positive Values – Girls act ethically, honestly, and responsibly, and show concern for others.
Come see Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama’s Heritage Collection! In the Mobile office’s lobby, you’ll see a glass case with rotating displays that show the history of Girl Scouts. Call or email to set up a self-guided tour of our extensive collection of historical Girl Scout uniforms, handbooks, camp items, magazines, collectibles, and much more in the archive room. Upon request and availability, our archives volunteer, Gigi Baroco, will give a guided tour. Items have been donated and cataloged to develop a museum for girls and adults to learn about Girl Scouts since its beginning in 1912. We are eager to add your Girl Scout treasures to our Heritage Collection when you’re ready to part with them and we need volunteers who love Girl Scouts to help maintain our collection in the Mobile Volunteer Center.
