Distinguished Young Women
Come join us for the Distinguished Young Women Program.
Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama teams up each year with the DYW program and has the Girl Scout troops participate in two weeks of fun filled activities with their DYW state finalist. Troops are invited to “adopt” a Distinguished Young Woman (DYW) from one (or more) state(s). Troops are encouraged to begin correspondence upon DYW state assignment to establish a relationship with her prior to her arrival. All participating Girl Scouts will receive a custom patch for participating in the DYW program.
Girl Scouts who have not earned the “Be Your Best Self” patch are encourage to complete the patch program and will be recognized on stage at DYW’s Community Night. The Be Your Best Self patch is an additional $2.00 cost. Please indicate, on your registration, the number of patches you would like to purchase.
