Wouldn't it be great if, by doing one small, easy-peasy thing, we could see how big a difference we can make? That's just what's happening this Saturday night! At 8:30 pm, it's time for Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is a global initiative that invites everybody to turn off their lights for one hour - 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 - to show support for environmentally sustainable action. Last year, over 128 countries participated! In the United States, Earth Hour is working with the Girl Scouts to bring the movement to life.
Call your friends to remind them, or get together with your troop for a night hike or campfire to contemplate the one thing we all have in common -- our planet. (And install some energy-efficient light bulbs so when you turn the lights back on, your house will still be saving energy -- and the planet!)
