Troop Events/Projects: February 2009 Archives

There are many veterans who are hospitalized, and they are of all ages. Some do not have families, and getting a card from you or your troop would mean so much! Cards for any holiday are welcome. The link below provides guidelines and dates.

This is something you can easily do at a meeting or at home and will provide comfort, support and appreciation for the men and women who have served our country. Here's the link:

9010_1.JPGTroop 9010 visited J.T. and Leanne at MIX 103 on Monday, January 19.  The girls learned about the radio station and even got to talk on the air!  In fact, they got to mention the cookie sale and our new cookie, the Dulche de Leche.  They also learned that J.T. and Leanne play the music on the radio through the computer just like it is a big iPod.  J.T. and Leanne told the girls they have a great job because they get to have special guests, like Taylor Swift, visit with them and because they get to do special events for worthy charities in the area, like the humane society and Children's Hopsital.  J.T. told the girls that to prepare for a career in radio they should consider studying broadcast journalism in college.  The girls enjoyed their visit and even got a CD recording of their radio broadcast premiere!
