Girl Scouts in the News: September 2010 Archives

A collective of San Diego reporters, known as A Cause for Celebration, recently stumbled upon more than five hundred Girl Scouts at their "Feelin' Groovy Urban Campout." They were a wild and crazy sight to be seen, complete with hip-huggers, granny glasses, go-go boots, and tie-dye T-shirts! Organized to benefit the Girl Scouts San Diego-Imperial Council, visitors and party-goers had to enter through the council's far-out curtain of swaying psychedelic love beads. What a hip way to help out!

Six Lehigh Valley Girl Scouts each teamed up with their favorite alpacas for a song and dance routine with David Letterman! The Pennsylvania Girl Scouts are members of the PACA Patrol, a special interest group that focuses on the care of these fuzzy fellows. The twelve friends went all the way to New York City to showcase their "Top Hat & Tails" routine, wowing Mr. Letterman and his audience!

 

Over the summer, Girl Scouts of the USA held a live online chat with actors Joey King and Selena Gomez, stars of the movie, Ramona and Beezus. It was a success with thousands of girls participating! Check out a message below, from the actresses themselves to Girl Scouts:
