Selling Girl Scout cookies can teach a person many things. I have learned a
number of techniques from selling Girl Scout cookies. It helped in areas such as
marketing, managing money, safety, and setting goals. When selling cookies, there has to be a way for people to know cookies are being sold. A few ways are telling friends and asking them to spread the word, sending out emails, and making signs and putting the signs on a vehicle . These marketing techniques should help boost your cookie sale rate.
The next skill
that I learned was how to manage money. The biggest part of managing money is
learning how to make a budget and stick to it. With this budget, you can plan
out what different types of things you want to do with the profit that is made.
While I was preparing for Girl Scouts I learned about how to be a safe sales
person. I learned to always go door to door with a buddy and adult, never give
out any personal information like your last name or home address, and never go
into a stranger's house.
The last, and most important, part of being a
successful sales person is setting goals. Setting goals help me focus on things
that are important and to not lose focus. Setting goals and reaching them also
gives me a happy feeling and tells me I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
In the end, learning these techniques can take me very far in the
future.
